WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

Wow! What a busy week it was. Last week we continued looking at ANZAC day and our brave soldiers who fought for our country and our freedom.

Here are just a couple of our thoughts about ANZAC Day.

“Anzac Day is about remembering when New Zealand and Australian men and women fought for our countries in the war.”

“Anzac Day is when people showed their love and fought for our freedom.”

Have you seen the giant poppy in the Auckland Domain? Last week we each got a metal disc and wrote a message to the soldiers. Our discs were then sent away and placed with the other 59,000 metal discs that made up the Giant Poppy Art in the Domain.

Here are some links to find out more about the giant poppy

On Friday we led the ANZAC service to remember all the soldiers and their courage. We held our service around the 'soldier's crosses' - the 30 crosses with the names of brave Kiwi soldiers and a nurse who fought and died for our country- it was important we stood near the crosses and remembered their sacrifice. We will remember them.

Mrs Giblin and Miss Cleary were so proud of us!

P.S Come in and see our wonderful poppy art sometime soon!
